My New book: CEMS and CEQMS Implementation in India- Inspection Manual

About book

CEMS and CEQMS for continuous monitoring and reporting of stack emissions and effluent quality in industries are efficient tools for compliance enforcement. For industries, they can help optimize operations for better performance and pollution control. Proper implementation of CEMS and CEQMS is essential, both for environmental regulators and industries.

Selection of suitable technologies and their correct installation as
well as operation and maintenance are crucial for implementation. Inadequate knowledge and skills and delay in guidelines have, however, resulted in faulty installations and malfunctioning of CEMS and CEQMS. This has led to low confidence and, despite huge investment, regulators and industries have not been able to utilize the potential of continuous monitoring system in India. It is, therefore, necessary for environmental regulators to inspect every CEMS and CEQMS installation in their region and ensure implementation of corrective measures where required. Industries should also proactively self-assess their installations.

This inspection manual is a guiding handbook for inspection and self-inspection of CEMS and CEMS implementation in industries. Environmental regulators, industry officials, vendors and relevant service providers can also use it as a knowledge building tool to reap the benefits of continuous monitoring and reporting systems in India.
