Fly ash is the second largest waste stream in India. Huge amount of fly ash is generated during coal based power generation; only 60% of it is being utilised in India. The rate coal based power is increasing in India, problem of fly ash disposal is being bigger and bigger. It can became a nightmare if complete fly ash utilisation is not assured. Sanjeev K Kanchan, as a panel chair, speaking on fly ash issues in an International conference organised by CSE at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
